There are so many diet ideas out there that it can be confusing to know where to start. To make matters worse, many of these diets have conflicting ideas. Some say to eat no meat at all. Others that you must eat some because our bodies are designed for it. And there are countless variations in between.

My take is that there is no perfect diet for everyone. Despite the firm convictions of diet gurus, one diet does not fit all. Find the diet that fits you. Take the sensible advice that make the most sense to you and then follow it to reach your goals.

If you are overweight your diet requirements are going to be different than an Olympic athlete. Eskimos would probably die quickly if they went on a vegetarian diet. They simply need the fat to keep warm in their environment.

The point is to listen to your bodyʼs needs and eat the most nutritious anti aging foods possible.

I like the concept of nutrient density. This actually goes along with the basic concept of mCRON which is modified caloric restriction. Eat foods with dense amounts of nutrients. Getting the best nutrients in food may seem obvious but many adults just eat until their stomach is full often with fast foods that have little nutritional value. Be aware of the nutrient scarcity in todayʼs foods. Make better food choices and feel better.

In order to get the best nutritional value from our foods and supplements, we need to make informed choices. Anti aging nutrients are not surprisingly found in those fruits and vegetables that have rich, dark colors. Those natural pigments contain antioxidants and phytonutrients that help keep our bodies healthy. So eat the rainbow of healthy fruits and vegetables to get the most nutritional benefit from your diet.

The ANDI score was recently developed. It stands for Aggregate Nutritional Density Index. This system ranks various foods by the density of their nutrient value. Higher scoring foods such as kale and spinach have a greater nutritional value than potatoes or breads for example. This can be a valuable tool to use for your menu planning.

Eating anti aging foods includes enough quality protein. I donʼt think it is necessary to argue whether or not it has to be from a meat or vegetable source. Just get protein in your diet. Most people overlook the fact that your body needs protein to maintain strong muscles and to repair tissues within the body.

Some doctors recommend about a half gram of protein per pound a day if you are already at your ideal weight. Eat more if you are overweight. This forces the body burn excess fat reserves according to Dr. Al Sears in his book "The Doctorʼs Heart Cure." The extra protein tells the body that it does not need to maintain excess fat reserves because food is abundant. Studies has proved the efficacy of this method. I recommend reading it.

Maintaining optimal nutrition demands supplementation with anti aging nutrients. Omega 3, coQ10, L-carnitine, and other vital nutrients are difficult to get from diet alone. Take a good multi-vitamin with broad range of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Another great anti aging food to consider is green tea in your daily routine. Many of the longest living peoples drink half a dozen cups of green tea per day. The biochemical analysis of green tea shows abundant antioxidant activity as well as other beneficial biochemical properties. Donʼt like tea? Take a green tea extract supplement instead. One or two tablets could equal several cups of tea.



What are superfoods? They are foods with unique qualities that simply outshine other foods by leaps and bounds. Many superfoods are fruits with very high antioxidant activity. They are rich in vitamins and minerals. Some cultures revere them as healing plants. Acai, mangosteen, noni, goji berry, black currant, and blueberry are among the few that fall into the super food category. Make superfood smoothies in your blender for a healthy dose of nutrition. There are also superfood extracts and powders available. Superfoods are naturally the best anti aging foods to incorporate into your diet.
